Dear University of Nebraska Alumni,
Thank you for taking the time to join our University of Nebraska Alumni Town Hall yesterday. It was a pleasure to connect with so many dedicated alumni, and I appreciate your thoughtful questions, insights, and continued passion for your alma mater—whether that be UNK, UNL, UNMC or UNO. If you missed the Town Hall and would like to watch it, you can view it .
As I shared during our conversation, the University of Nebraska is on an “odyssey to extraordinary.” Together, we can take NU to even greater heights—advancing teaching and research, strengthening key partnerships, and ensuring we remain a powerful engine for economic growth and impact across Nebraska and beyond. Your engagement is a vital part of that journey.
We face real challenges—ranging from shifting state and federal funding landscapes to the broader national conversation about the value of higher education. Despite these challenges, our commitment to our mission of teaching, research and engagement remains unwavering. I am confident that with your support, we will continue to serve our students, our state, and all Nebraskans.
I encourage you to stay connected and continue the conversation. Please feel free to reach out to me any time at president@nebraska.edu. If you're looking for ways to get involved and support our mission, I invite you to explore NU Advocates, a great way to champion the University’s impact and help ensure a strong future for higher education in Nebraska. NU Advocates will have a on March 10 that will cover our budget hearing (which will be held on February 25), other university-related bills, and next steps.
Thank you again for your time and commitment. The engagement and passion of our alumni gives me great confidence in the road ahead. I look forward to working together to create an even stronger University of Nebraska.
Warm regards,
Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D.
